Heavy Equipment Technician (Heavy Duty Mechanic) - Contractor (Shop and Field Positions)

Job Type: Contractor
Schedule: 12+ Hours per day, 10 & 4, OT after 8 hours/day or 44 hours/week
Location: Edmonton and Surrounding Area
Requirements:

• Full complement of hand tools.
• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6 ankle support
• Valid Drivers License

Pre-employment:

• Drug and alcohol testing which may be swab or urine depending on site requirements
• WCB and proof of liability of $5 million coverage
• Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

Heavy Equipment Technician (Heavy Duty Mechanic) - Qualifications:

• Must be a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician with Red Seal - Off Road or equivalent
• Must have between 10-15 years\' Journeyperson experience
• Off Road experience is REQUIRED
• Mining/logging/construction background is preferred
• Experience with CAT E.T. and S.I.S. and/or Komatsu is REQUIRED
• Problem solver, ability to read/troubleshoot and diagnose using hydraulic and electronic schematics
• Quality workmanship, takes pride in their work
• Exceptional organization and cleanliness skills are REQUIRED

Heavy Equipment Technician (Heavy Duty Mechanic) - Field Qualifications:

• 4x4 service truck, equipped with a minimum 5000 lbs. crane
• Air compressor and welding capabilities
• Laptop with all service programs

Heavy Equipment Technician (Heavy Duty Mechanic) - Responsibilities:

• Ensure equipment is maintained at the highest standards, in a timely manner
• Conduct performance and quality checks according to procedure
• Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and overhauls
