Daudet Creek Contracting Ltd. is an established and diverse contractor with an extensive fleet of equipment in the growing northern community, currently looking for a Heavy Duty Mechanic to work in our private shop in Kitimat, BC

The successful candidate will be a ticketed heavy duty mechanic who is proficient in maintaining, manufacturing, overhauling, reconditioning and repairing transport and heavy equipment powered by internal combustion engines or electricity; such as graders, loaders, trucks, forklifts, wheeled and tracked vehicles of all types used in our civil construction, mining and transport services.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

Expected to play a leading role in implementing and promoting workplace safety and professionalism Full understanding of all relevant safety and compliance regulations, policies, and generally accepted work practices relating to scope of work Perform in house repairs and maintenance of heavy duty trucks and equipment, as well as some light duty Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workflow to meet scheduled deadlines Ability to respond to the needs of a diverse customer and project base Ability to analyze troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems and recommend custom solutions Knowledge of electrical, air brake system, tire, body repairs and welding as required Experience with power-train installation, diagnosis and repairs Establish preventative maintenance checks and servicing on company vehicles
Qualifications:

Red Seal Journeyman, at least 5 years post certification Can lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks Valid class 5 license with clean abstract Combinations of education and work experience will be considered Ability to work professionally and problem solve with all personalities and situations Strong organizational and time-management skills Computer skills to work with an online work order system for repair maintenance record keeping
This is not a camp position, relocation assistance will be considered for the right candidate
