Responsibilities
Operate 3-ton, 5-ton, 10-ton, and tractor-trailer trucks to transport goods
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles
Ensure timely and secure delivery of cargo
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle service, and repair status
Comply with all traffic laws and safety regulations
Communicate effectively with shippers, managers, and customers
Secure cargo properly to prevent damage
Report incidents or accidents to the HD Truck Manager
Keep vehicles clean, organized, and in good working condition
Ensure delivery stores are properly locked and armed after drop-off
Use the Checkmate App to report at designated times
Follow health and safety protocols in warehouses and stores
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Goals and Expectations
Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior
Keep GPS active throughout the shift
Carry and complete TDG forms when transporting Dangerous Goods
Use appropriate tires and chains based on route conditions
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Valid Class Driver's License with a clean driving abstract
TDG Certification
Experience driving in adverse weather conditions
Familiarity with BC and Alberta highways and trucking regulations
Skills and Abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to travel and drive long hours
Strong understanding of health and safety standards
Ability to lift items up to 50lbs and knowledge of workplace safety procedures and the ability to adhere to the Lordco Occupational Health and Safety program
Organizational and multitasking skills
Problem-solving ability and adaptability
