We are currently searching for a full time Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor to support our Operations in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The HSE Advisor will report to the HSE Manager and liaise with the Area Manager(s) & Vice President of Canadian Operations.
The position is primarily field-based, involving traveling to Colter's work sites throughout Alberta and Northern British Columbia to complete inspections, audits and lead incident/accident investigations. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Audit/inspect work sites to ensure compliance of Company and Legislative standards
Manage preventative programs in line with legislation and Company requirements
Responsible for ensuring that appropriate PPE & gas monitoring devices are being used
Immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents to management
Ensure compliance with Colter's Safety Management System
Conduct and review hazard assessments to ensure compliance
Act as a liaison between management and field staff
Ensure awareness, engagement and compliance of employees, contractors and managers
Effectively communicate and coordinate HSE issues/ dialogues with government agencies, medical representatives, etc.
Maintain confidentiality in dealing with employee records and business information
Maintain knowledge of all applicable OHS, CSA, ANSI, Environment Canada, etc. standards and administrative practices
Identify improvement opportunity by monitoring incidents in the workplace and develop action plans
Assist in the implementation of HSE incentives
Assist in the implementation of Quality control and equipment maintenance program
Recommend suitable strategies to area management to proactively reduce risks and potential loss exposure
Monitor employee compliance with Colter's rules and standards
Assist WCB case management and reporting
Knowledge of Certificate of Recognition (COR) auditing standards
Maintain and foster a clean and organized work environment
Training, coaching and mentoring
Accident, Incident, Injury & illness investigation & management skills
Construct incident and follow up reports for stakeholders
THE SUCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE -

Strong work ethic, positive team attitude, self-motivated and organized
Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
Strong computer skills
Minimum of 5 years experience in Well Testing at a Supervisory level
Minimum of 3 years' experience with regards to Health and Safety Program Management, incident investigation and follow up reporting
Reside in the Grande Prairie area (within 45 minutes of our shop)
Strong knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Standards and Industry Recommended Practice.
Required certifications; Standard First Aid AB/BC, H2S Alive and drivers abstract
Clean driving record
Salary range will be between $ 85,000 to $ 90,000 based on experience.
