Your Contribution

As a Hygiene, Health & Safety Technician, you will work in collaboration with the Hygiene, Health & Safety team.

Your responsibilities will be:
  • Conduct assessment projects, including sampling, in, potentially including, but not limited to: hazardous building materials (asbestos, lead-based paints, mercury, mould, etc., indoor air quality assessments, mould, and industrial/occupational hygiene.
  • Conduct abatement monitoring and supervision during removal of hazardous building materials, and mould; and produce abatement specifications and tender documents, etc.;
  • Coordinates and performs field responsibilities, including identifying, sampling, and performing inspections and evaluations.
  • Prepares deliverable documentation of various hazardous building material and indoor environment quality projects including reports and drawings with results and recommendations, scopes of work, specifications, costing documents, etc.
  • Be willing to participate in health and safety committees, their respective office meetings, and/or take part in or consult in internal health and safety inspections in support for the company's occupational health and safety management plan.
  • Maintain a commitment to exceeding client expectations by consistently delivering high quality of work or business development with existing clients by delivering timely and quality work.
  • Conduct project administration tasks as required, including timesheet generation, and other tasks as required by your manager.
Your Profile
  • Degree or Technical Diploma in applicable field, i.e., Engineering, Health Sciences, Building Sciences, required. Relevant education is an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 + years' experience in a consulting environment or related field will be an asset;
  • Experience writing reports, technical and non-technical documents; and
  • Familiarity of provincial and federal regulatory requirements
  • Interest in obtaining professional designations such as CIH, ROH, CRSP, or other EHS/OHS related designations;
  • Possession of a vehicle and valid driver's license required;
  • Possession of or eligibility to obtain security clearance required.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to scheduling changes and occasional overtime, evening or weekend work;
  • Must be willing to travel between worksites locally, provincially and nationally urban and remote areas for extended periods of time as required;
