WHO WE ARE

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) was established in 1999 as an international independent agency to lead a collaborative worldwide movement for doping-free sport. As the global regulatory body, WADA\xe2\x80\x99s primary role is to develop, harmonize and coordinate anti-doping rules and policies across all sports and countries. Our key activities include: scientific and social science research; education; intelligence & investigations; development of anti-doping capacity; and, monitoring of compliance with the World Anti-Doping Program.
POSITION OVERVIEW

Involvement in all activities of the Testing department, with a primary focus on the management of compliance of Signatories\xe2\x80\x99 testing programs and any related compliance initiatives, the maintenance and development of core testing documents and resources related to the World Anti-Doping Program and supporting the further development of ADAMS for the needs of both WADA, its Signatories and other stakeholders as it relates to the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Signatory and global testing programs and the further development of Anti-Doping Organizations (ADOs) testing programs in line with the requirements of the Code, the International Standard for Testing and Investigations (ISTI) and additional best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the compliance activities of the Testing department and the ongoing development and maintenance of internal compliance assessment procedures for use with WADA\xe2\x80\x99s compliance monitoring programs as well as participate as a Lead Auditor in WADA\xe2\x80\x99s audit program;
  • Lead the development and maintenance of new and existing guidelines and resources and contribute to the ongoing development of the ISTI and other Code-related documentation that supports the implementation of the ISTI by ADOs;
  • Produce written reports/papers/letters for external stakeholders as well as WADA Foundation Board, Executive Committee, Compliance Review Committee, WADA Senior Management and the Director of Testing;
  • Represent the Testing Department at WADA\xe2\x80\x99s internal compliance taskforce meetings and report on the department\xe2\x80\x99s monitoring activities;
  • Contribute to ADAMS development and improvements for ADOs and WADA in line with WADA priorities, which result in enhanced planning, reporting and monitoring efficiencies and which are consistent with the Code, the ISTI and best practice;
  • Represent WADA at external meetings and symposia including the delivery of presentations either virtually or in-person;
  • Manage WADA\xe2\x80\x99s involvement with major games planning and coordination based on the Independent Observer model and compliance monitoring with Major Event Organizations;
  • Collaborate with all departments and impact areas of WADA in particular with the Compliance Unit and the Intelligence and Investigations Department on compliance matters and manage incoming requests related to compliance activities;
  • Oversee the management of Testing staff that report to the Head of Testing - Compliance, including performance evaluation plans (PEPs).

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • A university degree;
  • A minimum of 5 years experience required in an operational role working at a National Anti-Doping Organization, International Federation or Major Event Organizer;
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in and knowledge of the various aspects of implementing effective testing and anti-doping programs including but not limited to risk assessment, test distribution planning, delivery of testing programs both in competition and out of competition;
  • A sound understanding of the various other components of anti-doping programs such as therapeutic use exemptions, results management, privacy, athlete biological passport, investigations and education;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to teamwork and to engage stakeholders in a diverse and international environment;
  • Ability to clearly set priorities, objectives and deliver projects in line with budget, milestones and deadlines;
  • Established leadership skills, demonstrating tact, diplomacy and negotiation;
  • Ability to adapt rapidly to a changing environment and provide fit-for-purpose, timely and innovative solutions;
  • Strong people management skills and experience in managing small teams;
  • Experience and good knowledge of ADAMS and its functionalities;
  • Excellent oral and written skills in one of the two WADA official languages (English/French) and very good command of the other official language; Additional languages would be an asset;
  • Periodic work in the evening or on weekends;
  • Ability to travel Internationally;

  • Diriger les activit\xc3\xa9s de conformit\xc3\xa9 du d\xc3\xa9partement de contr\xc3\xb4le et le d\xc3\xa9veloppement et la mise \xc3\xa0 jour continus des proc\xc3\xa9dures internes d\'\xc3\xa9valuation de la conformit\xc3\xa9 \xc3\xa0 utiliser avec les programmes de contr\xc3\xb4le de la conformit\xc3\xa9 de l\'AMA, ainsi que participer en tant qu\'auditeur principal au programme d\'audit de l\'AMA;
  • Diriger l\'\xc3\xa9laboration et la mise \xc3\xa0 jour de lignes directrices et de ressources nouvelles et existantes et contribuer au d\xc3\xa9veloppement continu de l\'IIST et d\'autres documents li\xc3\xa9s au code qui soutiennent la mise en \xc5\x93uvre de l\'IIST par les organisations de d\xc3\xa9fense des droits de l\'homme (OAD);
  • R\xc3\xa9diger des rapports, des documents et des lettres \xc3\xa0 l\'intention des parties prenantes externes ainsi que du conseil de fondation de l\'AMA, du comit\xc3\xa9 ex\xc3\xa9cutif, du comit\xc3\xa9 d\'examen de la conformit\xc3\xa9, de la direction g\xc3\xa9n\xc3\xa9rale de l\'AMA et du directeur du contr\xc3\xb4le;
  • Repr\xc3\xa9senter le d\xc3\xa9partement de contr\xc3\xb4le lors des r\xc3\xa9unions du groupe de travail de l\'AMA sur la conformit\xc3\xa9 interne et rendre compte des activit\xc3\xa9s de contr\xc3\xb4le du d\xc3\xa9partement;
  • Contribuer au d\xc3\xa9veloppement et \xc3\xa0 l\'am\xc3\xa9lioration d\'ADAMS pour les OAD et l\'AMA, conform\xc3\xa9ment aux priorit\xc3\xa9s de l\'AMA, ce qui permet d\'am\xc3\xa9liorer l\'efficacit\xc3\xa9 de la planification, des rapports et du suivi et qui est conforme au code, \xc3\xa0 l\'ISTI et aux meilleures pratiques;

  • Un dipl\xc3\xb4me universitaire.
  • Un minimum de 5 ans d\'exp\xc3\xa9rience est requis dans un r\xc3\xb4le op\xc3\xa9rationnel au sein d\'une organisation nationale antidopage, d\'une f\xc3\xa9d\xc3\xa9ration internationale ou d\'un organisateur de grandes manifestations;
  • Un minimum de 5 ans d\'exp\xc3\xa9rience et de connaissance des diff\xc3\xa9rents aspects de la mise en \xc5\x93uvre de programmes efficaces de contr\xc3\xb4le et de lutte contre le dopage, y compris, mais sans s\'y limiter, l\'\xc3\xa9valuation des risques, la planification de la r\xc3\xa9partition des contr\xc3\xb4les, la mise en \xc5\x93uvre de programmes de contr\xc3\xb4le en comp\xc3\xa9tition et hors comp\xc3\xa9tition;
