Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Cook to join our culinary team. The Lead Cook will play a vital role in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. This position requires a passion for cooking and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and handling, along with excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service. Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to established recipes and menu specifications. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety standards, and kitchen protocols. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and ingredients, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock. Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations during service periods. Address any issues that arise during service promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.

Skills

Proficient in food preparation techniques with extensive knowledge of various cooking methods. Strong understanding of food handling practices and food safety regulations within the restaurant industry. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong leadership skills with the capability to motivate and guide kitchen staff effectively. Knowledge of meal preparation processes, including portion control and presentation techniques. Experience in the food service industry is mandatory along with familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools.
