Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities Coaching and Mentorship o Familiar with standard concepts, practices, procedures, technical knowledge and the Code of Points in women's competitive gymnastics and Xcel requirements o Proven ability to develop gymnasts 5-10 years of age through developmental stages and to develop gymnasts 10-18+ years of age through a progression up to and including elite/national levels including participation at national championships o Mentor the coaching staff to support growth, consistency, and the safety of the athletes o Participate in coaching clinic instruction o Adhere to Alberta Gymnastics Federation guidelines o Assist with new clients coming in for a program trial and registration of new gymnasts o Report to parents of any success or concerns with their child after class o Communicate with the coaches and notify of any problems, issues, or complaints Program Coordination o Plan, develop, and implement programs for training and practice sessions o Responsible for all coaches class schedules o Analyze and evaluate athletes' or team's performance o Observe and evaluate prospective athletes' skills and performance o Provide input into athlete development plans and knowledge of athlete goals Be an ambassador o Live our vision and mission statement and apply it to decision making o Interact with colleagues, subordinates, superiors, athletes, and parents in an ethical, professional, and positive manner focused on building relationships and effective communication Administration/Other Duties o Be willing to travel, travel overnight, travel cross-border or internationally. o Participate in hosted competitions, special events, team events and other Salta supported activities o Physical ability to perform the duties of the position o Meet monthly with the Board of Directors or President and meet with coaches regularly as a team o Facilities management including assisting with the cleanliness and organization of the gym and equipment o Check employee time logs weekly and turn into payroll by 5:00 pm every Monday o Responsible for marketing, increasing enrolment, and improving retention o Manage and secure adequate funding for the Club's operation in support of its strategic goals o Ensure representation of the organization at community activities and events to enhance SALTA's community o Keep gymnastics web page up to date o Keep track of all coaches: certifications, monthly schedules, new hires, training of new hires, payroll, and CPR & First Aid certifications- make sure they are always current o Work with staff, BOD and Treasurer to prepare a comprehensive budget and administer the funds of the organization according to the approved budget Requirements and Assets Required Qualifications o National Coaching Certificate Level 3/4 or Equivalent or currently working towards o Proven ability to develop gymnasts through developmental stages and to develop gymnasts 5-18+ years of age with a minimum of 3 years of women's artistic gymnastics coaching experience o Familiar with standard concepts, practices, procedures, technical knowledge and the Code of Points in women's competitive gymnastics o Current and up to date CPR/First Aid Certification o Respect in Sport and SafeSport certified and completion of Making Ethical Decisions o Current and clear police record check including vulnerable sector check Skill Requirements o Experience in facility management, HR, Risk management, or Program development o Energetic and actively fostering a positive atmosphere and training environment o Approachable and solution oriented with superior verbal and written communication skills, build positive rapport with athletes and their parents o Demonstrated leadership ability and management experience o Strong verbal and written communication skills o Excellent organizational and scheduling skills o Strong passion for gymnastics and the development of athletes o Patience and a desire to educate and work with children o Ability to motivate the children to reach their full potential Assets o Diverse experience in gymnastics programs o Experience with strength and conditioning o Completion of a Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in related field o Business background or equivalent experience with operating a Not-for-Profit organization o Experience as a high-level gymnast

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
