We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and innovative
Head Chef
to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant management, with a proven ability to create exceptional dishes while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, managing staff efficiently, and ensuring that our guests receive an outstanding dining experience.
Duties
Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
Develop and design innovative menus, skillfully blending Western and Chinese culinary traditions, that reflect current food trends while catering to customer preferences.
Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all kitchen stations to ensure efficiency, consistency, and quality.
Oversee food preparation processes to ensure quality and consistency in every dish served.
Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels to minimize waste.
Enforce food safety regulations and ensure compliance with health department standards.
Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to promote a positive work environment and enhance team performance.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in accordance with health regulations.
Skills
Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Extensive culinary expertise in both Western and Chinese cuisines is essential.
A strong creative and innovative spirit, with a passion for developing unique and fusion-style dishes.
Ability to develop and implement kitchen SOPs for workflow optimization and efficient kitchen management.
Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) is required to effectively communicate with and lead our diverse kitchen team.
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse group of individuals.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and quality control.
Proficient in food handling practices and safety regulations within the food industry.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a passion for hospitality.
Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a busy kitchen setting.
