Job Description

Incubation & Monitoring

Monitor incubator and hatcher panels, including temperature, humidity, turning functions, and alarm indicators. Respond appropriately to equipment alarms or warning lights and report concerns to the supervisor immediately. Candle eggs to assess fertility and monitor embryo development.

Egg Handling

Assist with transferring eggs from incubators to hatchers. Sort, bleach, tray, and pack eggs following established procedures. Maintain accurate records such as temperature/humidity logs, cleaning logs, and hatch documentation.

Hatch-Day Duties

Assist during hatch days, including operating the beak trimmer or other equipment when properly trained. Support the team in safely handling chicks, maintaining workflow, and ensuring animal welfare.

Cleaning & Sanitation

Clean and sanitize incubators, hatchers, egg trays, equipment, and tools on a scheduled basis. Perform routine cleaning of floors, walls, ceilings, and workstations to maintain biosecurity standards. Follow all cleaning and chemical-handling procedures.

Health, Safety & Biosecurity

Use proper PPE and follow all workplace health and safety practices. Participate in routine safety checks and report hazards or equipment issues promptly. Adhere to all biosecurity policies, including controlled entry procedures and sanitation requirements. Support safe operation of machinery and tools used in hatchery processes.

General Duties

Assist with other hatchery tasks as needed to support production efficiency. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
