The Opportunity:

Our client, an award-winning technology company based in North Vancouver, is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Hardware Engineer to join their team in North Vancouver, BC. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team responsible for creating a first-of-its-kind industrial application. this position will provide you with an opportunity to research and design new hardware and hardware architecture from scratch. This hardware design will be starting with conception and simulation and ending at fabrication, assembly, testing, and final integration

What You\'ll Be Doing:

  • Developing new electrical/mechanical designs for electrical panels
  • Developing new electrical/mechanical design for printed circuit board assemblies
  • Developing new system architectures following systems engineering methodologies
  • Perform basic wiring/assembly for electrical prototypes and R&D projects where necessary
  • Prepare electrical schematics, manufacturing drawings and assembly instructions
  • for electrical sub-assemblies.
  • Research, select and validate new electrical components and work with vendors
  • Troubleshoot mechanical or electrical system issues
  • Provide accurate documentation including bills of materials, engineering change
  • orders, test validation reports, root cause analysis, FMEA, and production
  • checklists
  • Ensure the product conforms to applicable CEC/CSA, UL, and EU standards
  • Work with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers, and electricians to
  • solve problems
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures
  • Work with and/or lead a project team
What You\'ll Need to Be Successful:
  • Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering is preferred however technical
  • training and/or diploma in a related field will be considered
  • Minimum of 7 years\' experience post-graduation/qualification
  • Experience in drafting using Solidworks or equivalent
  • Proficiency with Systems Engineering and/or Project Management
  • Knowledge in C/C++ programming language
  • Practice in Linux operating systems
  • Experience troubleshooting and point-to-point testing electrical systems
  • Ability to work in an open and honest group on how to improve designs, systems,
  • and processes
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong foundation in mechanical and/or electrical engineering
