S & A Hardware Engineer - New Graduates

THE ROLE:

The Datacenter GPU Application Engineering team works with our OEM/ODM partners to enable the successful design, qualification, and deployment of AMD enterprise server GPU products in the data center and exascale class supercomputers. You will be a key member of this external facing team responsible for triaging and debugging hardware and software issues in various data center server platforms.

This role provides a unique opportunity to learn about leading edge GPUs, Servers, Cloud technologies and solutions and grow your career with a key BU (Business Unit) at AMD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with OEM/ODMs to conduct Qualifications of new GPU Instinct\xe2\x84\xa2 Accelerators into their Servers.
  • Work directly with the customer to understand, reproduce, debug, and resolve issues.
  • Answer customer questions relating to compatibility, installation, configuration, running performance benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with teams throughout the engineering organization on deeper technical investigations.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Knowledge of server system components and interfaces, experience with system level debug.
  • Understanding and experience working with Enterprise Linux environment (Ubuntu, CentOS/RHEL and SLES).
  • Experience working with build tools (Git, CMake etc.) and building open source applications for Linux.
  • Linux scripting (eg: Bash, Python) and debug skills (drivers, kernels).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal, to deliver clear and concise information with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience with electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting equipment (scopes, protocol analyzers).
  • Knowledge or experience with containers (docker, singularity) and virtualization software is a plus.
  • Test or design experience in system interconnect technologies (PCIe, XGMI, CXL, USB, I/O Controllers) is a plus.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. MS or PhD a plus.
