Our TELUS Advanced Fleet services team is at the forefront of IoT Cloud native technologies, providing foundational technologies and support through software and hardware defined infrastructure. To be considered for this role, provide demonstration in your application of your direct (or related) experience and results for the following capabilities.

What you\'ll do*

  • Provide technical leadership experience to a team of Hardware (HW) engineers, technologists, system developers
  • Representing the hardware team, you will work in partnership with product owners, software development teams, operational support teams, project managers, vendors, and internal clients
  • Manage and maintain quality of HW development.
  • Develop and maintain new features, and present to stakeholders
  • Investigate team\'s HW and software code to understand and resolve specific issues
  • Support and maintain shared libraries and tools used by the greater HW development team
  • Create and maintain support documentation for the HW DevOps infrastructure
  • Participate in the project/tasks evaluation, estimation including feasibility and risk assessment
  • Participate in the review of critical development tasks
  • Participate in the validation of the project architecture and design choice
  • Be the technical mentor to immediate and extended team members
  • Manage team schedules
  • Ensure that tasks are processed according to their respective priority
  • Participate in the creation, maintenance, review and enforcement of processes
  • Manage scrum meetings within team, where required
  • Provide expertise in discussions with customers and third parties, as required.
  • Participate in regular planning meetings with service and development teams
  • Manage technical relationships with service providers
  • Inform and propose alternatives to service managers when ability to meet commitments are at risk.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the evaluation of the team members
  • Participate in the interview processes
What you bring*
  • 3+ years of experience in leading technical hardware focused DevOps teams
  • 5+ years experience with telecommunications hardware and firmware such as, GPS, HW modems, tablets, routers, switches, Raspberry PI.
  • Experience evaluating, testing, and integrating OEM/third party hardware
  • Software development experience with tools such as Java, NodeJS, Typescript, C, C#, C++ and SQL database experience such as MySQL, MongoDB, PostGres
  • Experience designing and developing firmware for integrating hardware and software solutions
  • Recent DevOps experience leading DevOps system administration, development and testing environments, production support, maintenance
  • Hands-on project experience using Jira, Slack, GIT repositories such as BitBucket, GitHub, GitLab
  • Experience working with Front End and Back End developers, Quality Assurance
  • Experience in working with Agile/DevOps methodology and CI/CD pipeline
  • University degree in Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science

  • Bilingual with French and English, spoken and written communication
  • Network architecture and security skills
  • Mobility experience, Realtime engineering
  • Fleet Management experience
