Growth Manager Channel Lead

Toronto, ON, CA, Canada

Job Description

Company overview

We believe in local, community, and people - where we spend most of our lives, money, and time. Yet even the biggest apps barely touch local:

Uber cover only ~1% of all rides, Airbnb just ~5% of all stays, and Amazon and Shopify together only ~7% of U.S. retail.

That's why we're building the leading platform to connect local communities. We've already done it in Korea, where every household spends

15+ minutes a day on Karrot

across marketplace, community, neighborhood maps, gigs, and short-form content - becoming a highly profitable unicorn.

Now we're bringing the same playbook to North America - starting with secondhand.

Position overview

We're looking for a

hands-on builder

who can design and scale a high-cadence content and social engine that ladders directly into company growth and strengthens our brand. You'll be in the weeds creating briefs, testing narratives, and driving rapid iteration cycles - ensuring our content system not only fuels measurable outcomes but also builds brand consistency and resonance in every market.

At the same time, you'll help shape Karrot's marketing strategy so it's seen by millions of people across the US and Canada every month. You'll own our organic, social, and paid content strategy and help shape how a $25M budget is deployed across channels, creative, and experiments to win the market.

Key responsibilities

Channel Ownership

Own the performance and growth strategy for your channels (mix of Meta/TikTok/Google TBD). Manage the full funnel: from creative development and campaign setup to optimization, reporting, and learning. Act as the primary liaison with platform reps, ensuring we stay on top of betas, best practices, and partnership opportunities.

Ad Operations & Optimization

Lead campaign operations - structure, targeting, pacing, and budget allocation - with precision and performance discipline. Continuously refine bidding, creative, and audience strategies to maximize ROI. Implement robust measurement frameworks, ensuring clean data, attribution accuracy, and actionable insights.

Creative Direction

Partner closely with the internal and external creative teams to drive concepting, briefing, and production for high-performing ads. Identify and scale winning creative angles, hooks, and narratives unique to your channel's audience and behavior patterns.

Experimentation & Insights

Run constant test-learn-iterate loops - across offers, formats, audiences, and creative approaches. Document learnings into clear playbooks that can be replicated and scaled across other channels. Contribute to overall marketing strategy by providing actionable insights on consumer behavior and platform trends.

What will help you succeed

You think from first principles, move fast, iterate even faster, enjoy being immersed in the problem until it's solved and love to win.

2-3 years' experience

in growth or performance marketing, ideally managing one or more of: Meta, TikTok, or Google at significant scale.

Full-funnel operator mindset

- you understand both the art (creative, storytelling) and science (data, measurement) of driving growth.

Entrepreneurial ownership

- you've built, tested, and optimized something from scratch and are comfortable being accountable for results.

Performance-first creativity

- you love building ads that convert and can dissect why they do.

Strong quantitative rigor

- comfortable with basic math (ie. (12 x 5) + 20 - 8 = ?*), dashboards, analytics, cohort analysis, and attribution modeling (SQL a plus).

Collaborative communicator

- able to work cross-functionally with creative, data, and strategy teams while driving clarity and pace.

How we work

In-office role in Toronto (Spadina & Adelaide) with significant responsibility and autonomy. Flat org where anyone can ideate and contribute across the full stack of Karrot products. We operate as one team out to win by creating the best local platform for communities and the people around us. Driven by curiosity and continuous learning - we ask questions, challenge assumptions, and grow together. While we play hard and ensure we are well rested, we work harder because we are mission-driven and fully immersed.

Perks and benefits

Team lunch, coffee, and tea provided - to fuel focus, connection, and momentum Business trip to Korea after 1 year - learn from our flagship market and build global relationships Pet-friendly office
