Department Overview
CPB Operations and Strategy is a business group comprising of Credit Operations, Money In Customer Service, Credit Practice Management, Shared Services, Transformation and Strategy and Colleague Experience with units across Canada (Markham, Edmonton, Vancouver, Ottawa and Montreal). We collaborate closely with business partners to deliver a legendary experience to the distribution teams and customers. Our mandate is to be the best Credit Team by delivering best in class service and advice, while operating within the business\' credit risk appetite and regulatory framework.

Then the position of Group Manager, Credit Underwriting is a great fit for you. In this position, you will:
  • Monitor and lead team performance to meet customer and partner expectations
  • Ensure teams effectively manage the customer/partner problem resolution process.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all partners
  • Manage credit activities and workload to ensure compliance to internal / external requirements and the achievement of service level standards and productivity targets
  • Contribute to the development of the business plan and operationalize the plan and deliver on assigned service or functionality
  • Work closely with key business leaders to develop business plan, ensuring the optimal use of resources and utilize TD\xe2\x80\x99s operating model to improve efficiency, effectiveness and scale
  • Provide people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting collaboration and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Oversee a large team with functional diversity and complexity where activities involve multiple step transactions, multiple systems and jurisdictions, higher volumes and/or medium to high complexity
  • Maintain lending limits as defined by TD Bank\'s discretionary lending limit policy to support the review or decisioning of credit, as required
  • Responsible for management of the overall team providing both leadership and mentorship
  • Set targets and objectives for the team, and deliver results
  • Grow team expertise to align with business/enterprise demand and direction; assess team skills and capabilities and continually look for ways to provide and improve the value delivered

Job Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree with over 7 years of relevant experience
  • A strategic thinker with advanced knowledge of related disciplines, strategy development, consulting principles, lines of businesses supported, banking industry, and product/customer markets
  • A compassionate team leader with the ability to lead, plan, implement and evaluate program activities to ensure completion and achievement of results
  • Expertise in project, risk and process management and methodologies to handle projects with large scope
  • An excellent decision maker with strong judgement skills to handle confidential information with discretion and discernment
  • A dexterous influencer and negotiator to make an impact, influence and achieve results with effective negotiation, problem-solving and communication skills
