PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS AND ATTRIBUTES



The Home Manager will provide person directed support to the 4 individuals with complex medical needs in their home and in the community. The successful candidate must be able to provide security for the persons supported by giving emotional and moral support, and by providing the opportunity for each person supported to reach his/her maximum potential through their day to day experiences. The manager will provide hands on support on the floor providing assistance to people supported and attending medical appointments with residents and staff. The Home Manager will also be responsible for leading the staff team within the home.

The Home Manager must exhibit the ability to multitask and prioritize. The Home Manager must show attention to detail. They will be required to be flexible able to adapt to the unique needs of the people supported, their family, staff, and the Organization. They must be a leader, a self-starter, have the ability to make mature judgments and show consistency, openness and honesty in interpersonal relationships. They must demonstrate the ability to develop, organize, coordinate and evaluate programs; possess imagination, patience and tact. They must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to provide leadership in the overall management of the home.

DESIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE



Demonstrated ability in leadership.

Completion of a diploma/certificate in the Disability Support Worker Certificate or equivalent training and experience.

Minimum 2 years management experience.

Knowledge and experience with Human Resource Policies.

Experience with individuals with complex medical needs.

Experience in the area of personnel supervision and Human Resources.

Proven understanding of general bookkeeping and resident trust accounting including computer software.

Experience with schedules.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE



Fulfilling the mission and values of the agency.

Person directed support in all aspects of life including personal, medical, leisure, vocational, financial, etc.

Successfully leading a team of Direct Support Professional.

Overseeing the everyday operations of the home.

Working with the Residential Program Coordinator and the Executive Director to ensure the home and resident finances stay on budget. Completing monthly book keeping.

Working in conjunction with the Residential Program Coordinator and Executive Director for the Human Resource duties including performance appraisals, hiring, etc.
