Reporting to the Program Manager, the Floor Supervisor supports our mission and vision to build a supportive and caring community and to guide our learners to reach their full potential through planned and impromptu skills instruction. The Floor Supervisor works closely with the Program Manager and utilizes a home-education model to respond to each client's specific education, social and vocational needs. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Required Education Requirements
: Completion of Diploma in Child and Youth Care Worker or Development Service Worker or similar education
Required Experience:
2 - 3 years working in a residential setting and previous supervisory experience is an asset
Knowledge of relevant legislation, Quality Assurance Measures, Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, Health and Safety Act, employee/labour relations practices and legislation
Knowledge of Child Protection Act
Previous experience working with individuals with complex needs and Autism
Driver's License- level G or G2 and a reliable vehicle
First Aid Level C
Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Police Check
Must provide a medical health assessment (form provided by Blooming Acres)
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and effective oral-written communication skills
Must be able to work all shifts, including day, overnights, afternoon, evening & weekend shifts and statutory holidays
The ability to perform the physical aspects of the position, and to maintain good attendance
Demonstrated problem solving, flexibility, creativity and mediation skills
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledge of and implementation of behaviour plans and Plan of Care/Individual Support Plan for residents
Responsible for supervision of staff and residents
Provide mentoring, coaching and training to direct care staff
Administer medications in accordance with policies and protocols
Proven verbal and written communication skills
Responsible for the direct care of residents and staff during each shift
Ability to manage petty cash and resident's financial ledgers
Provide daily care to clients including meals and hygiene
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Support our residents to reach their full potential by building relationships with clients, demonstrating an interest in the resident, responding to resident's needs, negotiating focused goals, and building their self esteem
Support and follow individual plans consistently while facilitating and implementing educational, recreational, and vocational programs, if applicable
Protect self and others by maintaining a safe environment via safety inspections, emergency procedures, crisis intervention techniques and Safe Management
On-going light housekeeping related duties which include, meal preparation, laundry, and cleaning
Complete necessary documentation in accordance with our policies and procedures, and Ministry of Community and Social Service requirements
Support and facilitate residents in their cultural and religious beliefs and practices
Participate as a member in a team environment by promoting and maintaining professional conduct, resolving conflict, acknowledging individual differences, and supporting team members and residents
Ensure that the daily schedule of each resident is followed by the Residential Care Workers including outings
Ensure meals are prepped and served and are in accordance with Food Safety guidelines

This position has a base rate of $22.00-$24.00 per hour, with an additional $3 wage enhancement per hour, paid by the government, as reflected in the wage posted.
