The Opportunity:

IMP Group is searching for a Group Benefits Administrator to join our Corporate Human Resources team. If you are a critical thinker who enjoys problem solving and are naturally organized with a strong attention to detail, you are our ideal candidate! What You Will Do:

  • Prepare bi-weekly reconciliations for group benefit premiums and identify variances.
  • Monitor arrears, retroactive and premium overpayments and coordinate appropriate action with required teams / individuals.
  • Process payment of monthly group benefits billings and complete reconciliation of group benefits related general ledger accounts.
  • Act as first point of contact for business unit Human Resources / Payroll representatives for all group benefit and group retirement inquiries. Escalate issue with benefit carrier as needed.
  • Maintain various benefit related documents such as plan summaries, benefit rate sheets and group policies.
  • Administer various processes related to the group retirement program such as enrolments, terminations and contribution eligibility. Assist the Group Retirement Committee with all plan governance activities.
  • Plan and deliver various group benefits and group retirement communications, and education / awareness campaigns.
  • Assist with the annual group benefits renewal and any other special group benefits / retirement projects as required.

What You Need to Succeed:
  • Post-secondary education with degree/certificate in a related field of Business Administration plus 3-5 years of relevant work experience; candidates with an acceptable combination of relevant education and work experience may be considered
  • CEBS designation and/or courses in Benefit Administration, Financial Accounting, Human Resources and/or other related field considered an asset
  • Proven experience in generating and understanding general ledger entries and account reconciliations
  • Experience with administering group benefits plans (health, dental, life insurance, LTD, AD&D, optional insurance) and group retirement plans.
  • Proficiency in Windows OS and MS Office Suite Programs with a high-level of expertise in MS Excel
  • Ability to use good judgement and discretion with highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a deadline driven environment
