Job Description

Under the direction of the Senior Engineering Manager and Engineering Supervisor, the Team Lead will support the communication between production and maintenance assisting with equipment repairs, maintenance and set-up, troubleshoot equipment failures, ensuring that all safety procedures are being followed.

The Team Leader will have leadership and hands on working knowledge of all aspects of small projects, electrical controls and control systems, mechanical maintenance, assembly, plumbing, heating and ventilation on various related control systems, including but not limited to: read and interpret electrical control blueprints; mechanical assembly drawings, with a working knowledge of AutoCAD as well as reading and interpreting service manuals for all equipment; and troubleshoot and repair both Electrical and Mechanical problems associated with production and facility related Equipment, in a timely manner. Must be able to work under pressure during emergency equipment breakdowns, making urgent repairs in order to return the equipment back to service.

• Direct communication and email correspondence between Engineering Managers and Supervisors is essential.
• Communicates, leads and mentors the maintenance team on shift, providing high level technical input.
• Communicates between production supervisor and the maintenance team on shift.
• Lead the maintenance team on shift providing basic direction on priorities and coordinating the workload.
• Provides emergency unscheduled troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment during the manufacturing process, performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production and facility equipment.
• Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs
• Repairs and maintains a limited amount of heating, ventilation, a/c, and refrigeration equipment
• Performs all repairs including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, troubleshooting and repair of production line machines, from the raw to finished product stage
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Creates and modifies preventive maintenance procedures, scheduling work for a single shift per day
• Coordinates and expedites repairs while communicating progress with production supervisors.
• Ensures that equipment is running efficiently speeds to achieve throughput standards and quality
• Manages daily work orders, completes required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Performs maintenance cleaning operations using degreasers and parts washers, sand blasting, wire wheels etc
• Daily use of power hand tools daily in a safe manner is essential. This includes using hand grinders, zip cutters and other equipment used in the preparation of steel fabrication
• Performs small steel fabrications and repairs with the safe use of MIG, TIG, electric arc and Plasma Cutting equipment
• Use of a milling machine and lathe will be a decided advantage
• Performs equipment inspections, correcting any process or safety deviations.
• Writes reports as needed, including Daily Communication Report generally on emails, sharing information that has occurred on your shift.
• Follows WorkSafe, AIB, and other food inspection Standards. Recommends and implements improvements needed to comply with standards. Follows Company Handbook Standards and SOP\xe2\x80\x99s.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed especially during shut down\xe2\x80\x99s specifically involving project or maintenance tasks.

Shift Timings: Sunday to Thursday (9:00pm - 5:00am)
