About Huawei Human-Machine Interaction Lab

Revolutionary products require revolutionary user interfaces. Huawei Human-machine Interaction (HMI) Lab brings global talents together to re-think the relationship between humans and ever-expanding technology. Driven by innovation, user-centered approaches, and high impact products, the lab aims to advance the state-of-the-art human-computer interaction research. Located both in Toronto, Canada and Shen Zhen, China. Huawei HMI lab consists of researchers, engineers, and designers working on cross-disciplinary areas including novel interactive systems, sensing technologies, wearable and IoT systems, human factors, computer vision, and multimodal interfaces.



We are looking for Programmers who have passion to paint pictures with math. Within our human-computer interaction team, you will work with talented researchers/engineers from interdisciplinary background to implement and practice cutting-edge image processing/rendering technologies, as well as machine learning.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build concept proofing prototypes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in integrating classic image processing/rendering algorithms, and ship new features
  • Work with and test open source libraries or 3rd party middleware for various topics
Qualifications

Must-haves:
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related subject
  • Solid understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, as well as calculus, linear algebra
  • Strong coding skills in high-level languages, particularly C++
  • Experience with 3D graphics APIs (OpenGL, OpenGL ES, Vulkan and/or vendor-specific)
  • Familiarity with classic image processing algorithms, e.g. edge detection, segmentation, sharpening.
  • Ability to work with artists, designers and other content creators to make sure they can get the most out of the technology
Pluses
  • Familiarity with color theory
  • Experience with shader programming language
  • Familiarity with either photorealistic or non-photorealistic rendering algorithms
