Position Overview: The graphic designer role is part of the Communications Team. The overall mandate of this team is to champion the vision, mission and values of CBOQ to our member churches, staff and volunteers.
The Communications team is looking for a graphic designer with 3-5 years of experience. In this position you show that you can think outside the box, showcasing your strong creative skill while staying on brand. This is a full time position reporting to the Associate Director of Communications, you will work collaboratively with the communications team and other staff and volunteers. Our offices are located in Mississauga, Ontario and we offer a hybrid working environment.

  • A strong grasp of the English language. Must be able to proof documents and collateral materials for the communications team.

Responsibilities:
  • Support CBOQ\'s mission, vision, and values.
  • Provides project management skills for the implementation of CBOQ\xe2\x80\x99s communications program.
  • Oversees production and distribution of print materials, including The Canadian Baptist newsletter, digital newsletters, news releases and communiqu\xc3\xa9s. Therefore, you have a strong grasp of MailChimp.
  • Coordinates and implements changes to information for the CBOQ website, a good working knowledge of WordPress will be needed.
  • Executes communication requirements for the annual Assembly, held in June every year.
  • You are a real team player, working collaboratively with other departments.
  • Participates in various staff team meetings, as required, to gather information and provide input.
  • Undertakes other duties or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of Graphic Design experience in InDesign. Illustrator and photoshop would be an asset.
  • 1-2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in video editing.
  • Photography and videography skills would be an asset.
  • Experience in print, web and electronic communications.
  • Competency with current communications technology - Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven communication and organizational, planning with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong editing and proof-reading skills.
  • Commitment to the mission, faith and polity of CBOQ.
