Position Overview The Office of the Provost & VP Academic is currently seeking a Recurring Part-time Alberta Recovery Campus Community (ARCC) Graphic Designer for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension. The recurrent part-time position reports to the Alberta Recovery Campus Community (ARCC) Director, and works with other members of the ARCC team, Student Wellness Services Team, the Campus Mental Health Strategy. The position is 10-20 hours per week, with some flexibility required (e.g., occasional weeknights and weekends) for approximately 12 months. The work environment requires most of the time spent at a computer, working from home, with some in-person events and meetings. The majority of the events will take place in Calgary, however, there is the possibility of travel, within the province. The nature of the work includes multiple simultaneous deadlines set internally and externally that will need organizing and prioritizing. Working independently with minimal supervision and direction to meet these deadlines and competing priorities will be required, especially during peak periods (e.g., events and campaign launches) throughout the year. Success and progress will be measured through regularly scheduled status updates with the Director. Status reports will include compiling results on various projects and milestones. Using design and digital marketing, the position will help develop connections with Alberta post-secondary institutions and community resources working with the entire team to develop a detailed plan, and project launch. Through developing project branding, the position will market the ARCC program through digital marketing (e.g., social media, website, events). The position will be responsible for designing graphics for special events and promoting them. They will also work with the team to create a digital storytelling series, showcasing campus member's stories, with the aim of creating awareness and reducing stigma. Position Description Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Create Alberta Recovery Campus branding kit.
  • Content creation, including filming videos and creating motion graphics for social media and training.
  • Create and design campaigns for special events and promotions following an events calendar (e.g., September's Recovery Month).
  • Create digital storytelling series with campus members in recovery
  • Launch YouTube channel, with digital story telling series.
  • Launch campaign for scholarship program
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1-year graphic design and digital marketing experience. Preference will be given to candidates with lived experience of recovery
  • Strong skills in designs, illustrations, and photo editing projects for both print and web purpose
  • Experience designing campaigns for events and promotions following an events calendar
  • Experience organizing and coordinating social media campaigns
  • Content creation, including filming videos and creating motion graphics for social media and trainings
  • Strong skills and experience using Zoom, and Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) required
