Position: Grant Manager

Reports to: People Leader, Program Excellence & Impact Delivery

Job Purpose:

The Grant Manager works interdepartmentally and across the World Vision Partnership with Field Offices, Regional Offices and Global Centre to contribute to Program & Policy\'s (P&P) three strategic priorities of Impact, Income and Influence.

The Grant Manager will optimize resources to achieve the best development outcomes possible and manage the grant in accordance to project design document. They conduct activities according to the Terms of Reference as developed in the grant proposal document. They provide technical guidance in relevant areas of the project and Monitoring and Evaluation.

The Grant Manager serves as an expert on their project and the relevant geographic/technical area and communicates project impact and results to multiple stakeholders. They collaborate with their peers to coordinate workload and capacity, troubleshoot and maintain a community of practice for knowledge sharing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage grant funded program/project to ensure quality execution, delivery of impact, risk management and fulfillment of donor promise/contract agreement.
  • Provide management oversight to grant program/project to ensure delivery of results and reports on time and budget while meeting compliance standards.
  • Establish reporting processes, communicating project results and incorporating learnings to optimize grant implementation.
  • Utilize Results-based Management tools as appropriate, to track project progress against objectives and intended results.
  • Coordinate and participate in all key grant deliverables including start up workshops, partner agreements, reports, workplans, annual reviews, evaluations and project closure activities.
  • Use knowledge management strategies to share project achievements and knowledge through partnership meetings, academic forums, print & digital communications and donor engagement opportunities.
  • Together with WVC MEAL and technical specialists, provide technical support to grant project for assessments, surveys or evaluations and establish monitoring and evaluation processes to track progress.
  • Provide technical expertise to grant staff and stakeholders in the relevant technical area of the grant, Gender equality, and Monitoring & Evaluation.
  • In close collaboration with the Grant Finance Officer and WVC legal team, prepare and negotiate contract and all needed amendments with the donor.
  • In close collaboration with Program finance, monitor grant project finances, expenditures, cash flow, recovery of overheads, financial risks and ensure project is funded on time to ensure effective and efficient grant implementation.
Qualifications required:
  • University Degree in a field related to international or community/social development including business development.
  • 5-7 years project management experience applied to institutional donor funded grants.
  • Experience in using Results Based Management approaches and developing Monitoring & Evaluation systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing remote teams to implement development projects; experience in liaising with academic and/or research partners.
  • Understanding and experience working with major and public donors.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Detail oriented with ability to work with project documents and provide quality feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-organizationally and cross-culturally to ensure alignment and realization of strategic goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative with confidence and sound judgement while managing several moving parts simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel internationally at least once per year, including potentially to high-risk environments.
