*This is a term position from December 6, 2022 - April 6, 2023*

The University of Winnipeg Faculty of Graduate Studies is hiring 3 student ambassadors. The duties will involve chatting virtually with future students on the Unibuddy platform, referring students to the graduate studies web pages, providing information about UWinnipeg and Winnipeg, and helping with some student events such as orientation and open-house. On-the-job training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and respond to online chats with prospective students through the Unibuddy app (an example of a pop-up chat can be viewed
  • Answer questions from prospective students about UWinnipeg, the student experience, programs, research, funding, living in Winnipeg, etc.
  • Create content such as blogs or social media posts to help students embark on a positive grad school journey
  • Provide guidance to new graduate students
  • Report to the Graduate Studies Recruitment Officer about chat experience
  • Attend and assist with the coordination of Orientation and other social events
  • Assist with the promotion of the graduate student workshops
Qualifications:
  • Full-time graduate student enrolled in their second year
  • Good academic standing and good volunteering or co-curricular record
  • Willing to help incoming students
  • Both domestic and international students are welcome
An equivalent combination of education, experience, skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered.

Condition(s) of Employment:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Note: The work described in this posting will be conducted in-person.
