In the appointment of Research Assistant, your general duties and responsibilities will be research. You will be engaged in data collection and analysis, literature review and other research support and assistance for this funded project.Nature of Work: A successful candidate will be expected to be self-directed and able to work independently, as well as with other members of the research team. The work will primarily occur in-person at the University of Saskatchewan, Prince Albert campus, with remote and on-site work required as well. This casual position is for one year. You will report to Dr. Geoffrey Maina.Required Number of Hours: 260 hours during the academic term or 16 hours per week
Duration of Employment: specific start and end dates.Qualifications (Skills and Abilities)
Applicants should be a current student registered in a master\'s program.Experience: Relevant experience with research support (data collection, data analysis and report writing). Previous experience conducting qualitative and quantitative health related and community participatory research.Skills:

  • ability to establish and maintain the level of professional relationships that support exceptional collaboration;
  • exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written;

  • ability to understand several qualitative and quantitative methodologies;
  • ability to gather, track, analyze, and present information utilizing advanced features in programs such as Microsoft Office, SPSS, NVivo;
  • ability to identify issues and then develop and implement creative and outcomes oriented solutions;
  • ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and diverse environment;
  • ability to work independently; and attention to detail.
