The Faculty of Education is looking for a graduate research assistant to help with a project which explores expressions of joy in educational leadership. This research explores the ways in which school principals experience and find joy in their work. It addresses increasing concerns surrounding work intensification amongst school principals. It seeks to highlight the joys which emerge within the work of principalship, a concept which has not been explored within principal work. This research project will be conducted in PEI, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and BC. Remote participation in this project is expected.
The primary activities of the successful candidate will involve promoting the research project amongst school leadership organizations and school boards. You will be asked to interact with potential participants and provide information about the project and respond to any queries they might have. In the Fall and winter, you will also be managing informed consent procedures and conducting interviews alongside the principal investigator, Dr. Ken MacKinnon. In the spring you will begin data analysis and begin to work on knowledge mobilization projects.
