ummary of Position:

The Grading Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating all activities related to site grading, excavation, and base preparation for construction projects. This includes overseeing crews, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining quality and efficiency in grading operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Crew Supervision:

-Lead and manage grading crews including equipment operators and laborers.

-Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure productivity and quality.

-Train and mentor crew members on proper grading techniques and safety practices.

Project Execution:

- Interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes.

- Ensure proper slope, elevation, and compaction of graded surfaces.

- Coordinate with surveyors and other trades to maintain project timelines.

Safety & Compliance:

- Enforce safety protocols in accordance with OHSA and company policies.

- Conduct daily safety meetings and site inspections.

- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe operation of heavy equipment.

Quality Control:

- Inspect work to ensure it meets project specifications and tolerances.

- Identify and resolve issues related to soil conditions, drainage, or equipment.

Administrative Duties:

- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and crew hours.

- Assist in budgeting and procurement of materials.

- Communicate progress and issues to project managers and stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum

3-5 years

of experience in grading or excavation.

Proven leadership experience in a construction environment. Strong understanding of soil types, compaction, and drainage. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and grade stakes. Proficient in operating and directing heavy equipment. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week

Additional pay:

Schedule:

Monday to Friday Overtime Weekends as needed
