We are looking for a Government & Community Relations Specialist for a 12-month full-time contract position based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. While well-supported by CAA CCG Club Group of companies, in terms of resources, GCR Manitoba is a small but mighty team. Position Details
What You Will Do
\xe2\xa6\x81 Develop and execute key elements of GCR\'s advocacy role that add value to the CCG brand and enhance the strategic focus on Member and public safety
\xe2\xa6\x81 Identify, develop and maintain government, and industry stakeholder relationships while advocating for the overall mission of the organization
\xe2\xa6\x81 Foster collaboration and cooperation among internal and external stakeholders while exercising diplomacy and conflict resolution tactics to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive issues
\xe2\xa6\x81 Coordination of regular and annual marketing and communications with the ongoing focus on raising public and stakeholder awareness of the organization and its work through multi-faceted communications efforts
\xe2\xa6\x81 Ongoing research and knowledge growth to keep CCG\'s programs, issues and initiatives aligned with current trends and data in Manitoba, and to identify new opportunities
\xe2\xa6\x81 Experience communicating with government officials and business leaders plus an understanding of networking and correct comportment is crucial
\xe2\xa6\x81 We would give special consideration to any candidate who has community advocacy experience or a candidate who has initiated a grassroots project
\xe2\xa6\x81 An interest in community-based programming considered an asset, such as our School Safety Patrol Program.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Some travel (within Canada) can be expected
Who You Are
\xe2\xa6\x81 Bachelor\'s degree in political science, Communications or a related field is mandatory.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Post-secondary Certification from Government Relations/PR/Corporate Communications program, and/or membership in related associations an asset
\xe2\xa6\x81 Experience in areas including; Public policy/Public affairs, Public relations/corporate communications, Not-for-profit, Social media and digital communications,Stakeholder relations
\xe2\xa6\x81 Experience in Critical writing
\xe2\xa6\x81 Experience in research and data analysis
\xe2\xa6\x81 Experience in digital marketing an asset
\xe2\xa6\x81 Strong verbal and written communication skills
\xe2\xa6\x81 Pre-existing networks in Manitoba communities (NGO, charitable sector, not-for-profit, political) would be considered an asset
\xe2\xa6\x81 Marketing, project management and event planning experience considered an asset
\xe2\xa6\x81 Experience on elections campaigns also considered an asset
