We are currently looking for a full-time permanent

Golf Course Superintendent

to join our growing team - working exclusively at the Hockley Valley Resort. Reporting to the General Manager of Dol Turf Ltd., the Superintendent is responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and enhancement of the golf course and its grounds to ensure exceptional playing conditions and a visually appealing environment. The Superintendent will work closely with the management teams to deliver high-quality golfing experience for guests and ensures compliance with environmental regulations, safety, and sustainability.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:



Develop a detailed turf management plan including grooming expectations and reporting intervals. Prepare a reasonable operating budget to exceed the customer's expectations. Hire the appropriate assistant superintendent(s) and all turf staff. Submit and approve all items for invoicing the customer directly to Dol Turf on a timely basis. Meet with the Resort's key decision makers regularly and advise the customer on agronomic and economic considerations of capital projects and purchases. Use the customer's facility to trial, demonstrate and promote Dol Turf's products and services Participate in negotiating a longer-term course management agreement with the customer Maintain all applicable pesticide applicator and IPM agent certifications and fulfill all IPM submissions annually Work closely with golf operations and Resort management to ensure course conditions align with guest expectations and event schedules. Support Resort events, tournaments, and special functions by preparing the course to meet premium presentation standards. Represent Dol Turf and the Resort professionally when interacting with members, guests, and vendors. Practice and enforce all aspects of Dol Turf and the Resorts Health & Safety Policy Manuals. In the off-season an expectation to provide snow clearing at the Resort.

Qualifications/ Required Skills



Diploma or degree in Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, Agronomy, or related field. Minimum 5 years of progressive golf course management experience, with at least 3 years in a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent role. Certified IPM Agent (Ontario) or ability to obtain certification. Strong working knowledge of irrigation systems, automated controls, turf grass cultural practices, course conditioning and construction and is current with the rules of golf. Proven leadership and team management skills. Solid budgeting, planning, and communication abilities. Must have the ability to anticipate personnel, equipment and material requirements related to the golf course maintenance and repair assignments. Strong mechanical aptitude with golf course turf equipment. Experience hiring and managing a team to meet and exceed organizational goals

The incumbent will be required to provide a clean criminal background check at the offer stage.



Working Conditions



Early morning, weekend, and holiday work required during peak season. Outdoor work in variable weather conditions. Moderate physical activity may be required.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
