Job Description


Purpose of the position

Reporting to the Manager, Trade Compliance & Transportation, you will be responsible for daily operations, managing communication with internal/external customers and suppliers, analyzing and reporting SMART\'s logistics cost and service data and for managing data tables, reports and requests.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze and report detailed data for logistics spend, savings and service
  • Code audited and approved freight invoices to the appropriate general ledger account and forward invoices to accounts payable
  • Work with the logistics team, warehousing operations and third-party suppliers to resolve transportation issues
  • Arrange inbound and outbound transportation for all expedited service requests
  • Track shipments with carriers and relay information to internal customers
  • Provide freight quotes to internal and external customers
  • Receive Pre-Alerts (ASN) from vendors and distribute information to appropriate receiving entity
  • Obtain POD\'s for all SMART routed shipments (CPT/DAP shipments) worldwide
  • Provide POD data to finance for month end (Including EXW/FCA shipments - not routed by SMART)
  • Perform all system transactions required to complete financial transactions for in transit orders. Vendor - to Smart - to Customer.
  • Work with Carriers/Freight forwarders to obtain final freight charges for shipments that have been delivered and estimate freight charges for shipments that have not yet been invoiced for month-end (accrual report)
  • Missing Shipments - Investigate & follow-up with carriers/freight forwarders
  • Responsible for ensuring that all internal controls within the role\xe2\x80\x99s responsibilities/area are sufficiently and appropriately performed and evidenced for audit purposes
  • Performing other duties as required
Education and work experience
  • Bachelor\'s Degree is an asset, but related experience will be considered
  • A minimum of 3 years of Logistics or Supply Chain experience is required .
  • High degree of proficiency and confidence with software applications, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Power BI
  • Accuracy; ability to work in a highly detailed and accurate environment
  • Communication: strong verbal communication skills with the ability to conduct clear, concise conversations that result in shared understanding.
  • Decisiveness: move quickly on issues and opportunities, weighing risks in a fast-paced environment.
