Overall Objective of the Position

We are a non unionized glazing company seeking an experienced installer/glazier to join our growing company. The right candidate will be comfortable with multiple systems of glass and aluminum glazing units, with significant competency in exterior systems however having some experience with interior installations. The employee will be presentable to customers, considerate of cleanliness and will take on each project with a positive attitude.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, detail orientated and knowledgeable in all areas of construction but specifically glass and glazing, possessing the following characteristics:

Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Must be reliable, punctual, with strong oral communication skills Safety oriented Able and interested in leading and coaching a team of glaziers onsite Efficient at loading necessary material and transporting from shop to job sites Able to lift heavy material in a manner that is safe for personnel and also safe from becoming damaged Attention to detail when installing, consider most efficient/effect ways to perform a task Can accurately perform on-site measurements Experience with overall constructability, and high attention to detail of final products Ability to take responsibility for the quality of work Strong follow-up skills with the ability to effectively resolve difficult issues in a timely manner

Key Duties and Accountabilities

Read drawings and discuss approach with project managers, general manager, or field manager to decide best installation approach Fabricate, or learn to fabricate, aluminum window frames in the shop for both window wall and curtain wall systems Transport material to and from job site in company van Install pre-fabricated frames in window walls, and remove/replace curtain wall framing components onsite, per drawings Install Insulated Glass Units on both exterior and interior of buildings Layout interior partition framing per drawings, including levelling and adjustments to aluminum while onsite Glaze laminate and tempered lites while onsite for interior partitions Identify areas needing sealant, and apply beads in a visually appealing manner Correspond and communicate job progress with Field Manager and General Manager for smooth operation of company

Drivers License Requirement - Yes

Ability to lift and carry heavy materials/equipment

Strong knowledge of tool use

Ability to operate a forklift

Ability to work at heights

Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather

Ability to work outside of regular business hours

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
