Missions and Responsibilities

The Global Infrastructure & Operations Department (GIO) was created to enable high speed execution of the Group’s IT transformation projects and to run global services.

GIO is part of the Air Liquide IT legal entity. It delivers infrastructure services to our BIS (Business Information System) customers world wide.

The Americas Hub team within GIO is responsible for ensuring the delivery of all GIO services to its customers across all the Americas (through the 3 Clusters: North America, Latin America, Airgas) and their respective entities, encompassing more than 25,000 employees.

Within the GIO entity, the Business Partnership & PMO Service Line is the initial point of contact for internal Business Information System (BIS) customers seeking GIO service offerings. The services provided include demand management, IT project architecture, infrastructure project management and infrastructure merger and integrations coordination.

Within this team, the GIO Project Solution Architect ensures that GIO requirements are identified and solutioned with the GIO Service Lines (Cloud Services, Security, End-User Service etc.) within the early phases of a project. Liaising with Business Information System architects and customers, the GIO Project Solution Architect ensures smooth integration of infrastructure solutions into project solution design.

The GIO Project Solution Architect will report to the Business Partner & PMO Hub Manager in the Americas. Responsibilities Responsible for the overall project design and delivery of GIO services, the GIO Project Solution Architect is responsible for ensuring that GIO infrastructure impacts on projects and initiatives are identified and serves as the primary point of contact for GIO impact assessments and the coordination of GIO resources for IT infrastructure solutioning. Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
IT Infrastructure Impact Assessment
The GIO Project Solution Architect is responsible for the overall IT infrastructure impact assessment process and supports Business Information System (BIS) Enterprise Architects and GIO Demand Coordinators in ensuring that the infrastructure impacts on projects and initiatives are identified early in the project life cycle. This process includes the following:

  • reviewing high level requirements with Business Information System (BIS) management and
project managers
  • collaborating with BIS Architects to ensure a full understanding of the project requirements and
potential IT infrastructure impacts
  • ensuring GIO representation in project architecture reviews (preliminary, summary and follow up)
  • communicating upcoming projects with GIO infrastructure impacts to GIO stakeholders

Competencies and Profile


General Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other relevant area (or equivalent experience)
  • 5 - 7 years experience in IT (for example: IT strategy, IT governance, IT demand management)
  • 3+ years of proven experience as a Project Manager
  • Fluency in English and in French.
  • Experience in a multicultural environment is an asset.

Knowledge and know-how specific to the position
  • Previous experience managing projects involving integrations, infrastructure or complex technical landscapes
  • Strong knowledge of customers (business, culture, needs).
  • Good knowledge of ITIL.
  • Familiar with the latest technologies, trends, standards, products, and applicability .
  • Technical background, good grasp of IT Infrastructure solutions (Networking, Data/Cloud, Computing, etc, ...).
  • Advanced proficiency in GSuite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) as well as Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with ITSM, preferably ServiceNow.

Knowledge and know-how specific to the position
  • Strong knowledge of products / service sold
  • Ability to build adequate commercial proposals and associated SLA

  • Works safely and complies with Air Liquide policies and procedures.

  • Ability to lead technical discussions with customers and internal teams, status meetings and briefing sessions. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels (i.e. in detail with technical teams and present summaries with senior management)
  • Demonstrated evidence of influencing positive change within your environment and implementing service delivery metrics and reporting capabilities
  • Ability to promote teamwork and a cooperative work environment.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of project and enterprise budgeting processes
  • Customer and Service Oriented;
  • Strong listening and dialogue skills to understand needs and problems encountered by users
  • Proven interpersonal, analytical, presentation, communication, and organizational skills
