Our Next Geotechnical Engineering Lead… We have an exciting new opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineering Lead to join our team! This role will provide technical oversight and leadership to Okane’s current and future geotechnical team.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Ensure accuracy of proposal technical workflow and costs.
  • Quality of technical outputs in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Provide input and direction to corporate technical practices within their discipline.
  • Serve as an Engineer of Record, where appropriate.
  • Senior level direction of tailings management design studies and related analyses is an asset.
  • Prepare advanced technical documentation and reports.
  • Apply an advanced understanding in the area of geotechnical engineering to assist in the delivery of new approaches to solve problems.
  • Lead and review numerical modelling programs to assess geotechnical stability, dam break assessments, liquefaction, and consolidation assessments.
  • Lead and review analytical work related to deposition and reprocessing of tailings.
  • Scope and deliver geotechnical investigations to support projects (site investigations, monitoring equipment installations etc).
  • Manage field studies for the collection and maintenance of data from scientific instrumentation installed at mine waste reclamation monitoring sites.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship and leadership to staff.
  • Provide senior technical input to project teams ensuring core processes and technical standards are followed.
  • Project coordination and budgeting.
  • Leverages existing professional networks to pursue new leads, opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
  • Maintain effective client relationships and networks and generating tailings work.
  • Prepare or review detailed work scopes for proposals.
  • Interact competently with internal and external stakeholders of varying levels of expertise.
  • Foster and maintain client relationships and identify innovative opportunities.
