General Manager - Operations, Warehousing & LogisticsPosition Summary

The General Manager (GM) of Operations, Warehousing & Logistics is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of operational performance across warehousing, distribution, inventory control, transportation, and logistics. The GM oversees strategic planning, daily operations, resource allocation, financial performance, safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills, with a focus on driving efficiency, cost optimization, and service quality across all operational functions.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership

Provide strategic and operational leadership for all warehousing, logistics, and transportation functions. Establish and implement operational policies, procedures, and performance standards aligned with corporate goals. Lead cross-functional coordination between production, customer service, logistics, and finance teams.
Warehousing & Inventory Management

Oversee multiple warehouse facilities and ensure optimal layout, capacity utilization, and workflow efficiency. Ensure accurate inventory control and stock integrity through robust systems and audits. Implement and monitor KPIs for picking accuracy, on-time order fulfillment, and inventory turns.
Logistics & Transportation

Manage and optimize inbound and outbound transportation networks, including 3PL relationships. Negotiate freight contracts, monitor carrier performance, and reduce transportation costs. Oversee route planning, scheduling, and dispatching to achieve high service levels and cost efficiency.
Financial & Performance Management

Develop and manage operational budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditures. Analyze operational data and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean/Six Sigma and other best practices.
Leadership & Team Development

Build and mentor a high-performing operations team including warehouse managers, logistics coordinators, and supervisors. Establish clear performance objectives, training plans, and succession planning for critical roles. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure adherence to all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Oversee security, loss prevention, and emergency preparedness procedures. Manage audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field (MBA preferred). 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, warehousing, and logistics, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Proven experience managing multi-site operations and large teams. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and logistics technology platforms. Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, cost control, and KPI management. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
