Summary
We are seeking an experienced General Manager (Operations) to take full ownership of the daily operations and financial performance of the home care agency. This role oversees client services, caregiver workforce management, compliance, and business growth, while also stepping in directly to support scheduling, caregiver hiring, and client assessments when needed.
The position currently covers a single location serving Peel Region, the GTA and surrounding cities, with the opportunity to expand in the future by supporting franchising growth and multi-location operations.
This role is ideal for someone who has already managed or owned a home care agency and thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced, founder-led environment.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all agency operations -- including caregiver workforce, client services, scheduling, compliance, and service quality -- and step in hands-on when required (e.g., scheduling, caregiver hiring, intake calls, client assessments).
Manage and mentor direct reports (Client Care Manager, Director of Care Operations) and provide strong people leadership.
Take full P&L responsibility, including payroll, invoicing, marketing, expense control, business planning, budgeting, and performance reporting.
Implement best practices and prepare the agency for accreditations.
Provide operational feedback to support improvements to ConsidraCare's software platform.
Build referral networks with hospitals, clinics, and community organizations.
Support growth and strategic initiatives such as franchising pilots, partnerships, and new care models.
Report regularly to the founders on performance, risks, and opportunities.
Skills & Qualifications
3-5 years in a senior leadership role (General Manager, Franchise Manager, or Owner/Operator) in senior home care in Canada with P&L accountability.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, Business, or a related field (MBA/MHA preferred).
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, especially in dealing with families of care recipients.
Strong people management experience, including leading managers, staff, and caregivers.
Proven ability to manage budgets, control expenses, and optimize operations.
Experience with quality standards, accreditations, or regulatory audits.
Comfortable working with technology platforms and process improvements.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a founder-led environment.
