Carriage Ridge Resort is a scenic four-season retreat nestled in the heart of Oro-Medonte, Ontario. The property features 135 spacious condominium-style units across three buildings, including a main lodge with guest reception, an indoor pool, and a marketplace.

We're seeking an experienced and hands-on General Manager to lead the resort's daily operations, manage a small, dedicated team, and strengthen partnerships within the local community.
Position Overview
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall management, financial performance, and guest satisfaction at Carriage Ridge Resort. This includes team leadership, vendor and contract management, operational efficiency, and local business development. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented "doer" who thrives in a collaborative environment and takes pride in driving results.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate, and support a small on-site team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Oversee all resort operations including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, and administration.
Manage financial performance
Negotiate and oversee vendor and service contracts to ensure quality and cost-efficiency.
Develop and implement effective operational procedures for consistency and improvement.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses and attractions to generate new partnerships and revenue opportunities (e.g., golf courses, ski hills, tourism operators).
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and property standards.
Manage guest relations, ensuring issues are escalated and resolved promptly and professionally.
Apply HR best practices and Employment Standards Act (ESA) regulations, supporting functions such as recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and maintaining a positive workplace culture.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 3+ years of experience in a management role within hospitality, resort operations, or property management.
Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Strong financial management skills with experience controlling budgets and operating expenses.
Excellent leadership and communication abilities with a hands-on management style.
Proven ability to build, train, and motivate small teams.
Background in customer service and guest satisfaction.
Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance.
Some HR experience.
Strong organizational and process-building skills.
Comfortable using property management systems (PMS) or similar operational software.
Flexible to work weekends or holidays as required by resort operations.
First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification within the first 3 months of employment.
Bonus: Maintenance or technical building experience.
Compensation & Perks
Competitive salary: $70,000 - $80,000 annually
