Role Summary
The General Manager is the pivotal leader guiding all business and care operations at The Alexander. This individual empowers and inspires our team, elevates the resident experience, and drives performance across all aspects of the business while embodying our values of

Core Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
Foster a high-performing, engaged, and collaborative team culture that reflects The Alexander's mission and values.
Recruit, train, mentor, and develop staff, ensuring every team member has the support, tools, and guidance needed for professional growth and effective service.
Demonstrate excellence in conflict resolution, coaching, and change management to maintain a positive and adaptable work environment.
Resident Engagement & Experience
Promote and maintain exceptional standards of care and personalized service in all resident interactions.
Engage actively with residents and families, responding to concerns and ensuring high satisfaction across the community.
Lead and participate in care conferences, resident and family council meetings, and ensure the regulatory Bill of Rights is upheld.
Operations & Compliance
Oversee daily operations, ensuring seamless delivery of services, safety, and quality.
Ensure all activities comply with the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority (RHRA), public health, and other regulatory bodies.
Routinely review and update operational and care protocols to incorporate best practices and innovations in senior living.
Strategic & Financial Management
Set and monitor annual, quarterly, and monthly business goals, including occupancy targets and financial performance.
Develop and implement effective budgeting, financial reporting, and corrective action plans as needed.
Collaborate with owners on strategic planning and advancement of The Alexander's vision.
Community Relations & Marketing
Represent The Alexander in the greater Muskoka community and beyond, developing partnerships and promoting our progressive offerings.
Lead site tours, speak at community events, and coordinate marketing and outreach programs to strengthen brand presence and occupancy.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Champion new programs, technology, and research initiatives focused on enhancing the resident and staff experience.
Stay informed of industry trends and proactively propose improvements to programming, operations, and care models.
Requirements
5-7 years senior leadership experience managing teams of 20+ in healthcare, hospitality, or seniors housing environments.
Demonstrated expertise in operations, HR, finance, clinical oversight, facilities, regulatory compliance, and marketing.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to lead by influence and inspire others.
Proven record of effective conflict resolution, coaching, and workforce development.
Knowledge of geriatric and dementia care (preferred), with capacity to understand and address the needs of residents with diverse health profiles.
Recent clear Criminal Record or Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
Valid Ontario Class G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
Current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain promptly; GPA training preferred.

Pay: $85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
