Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for responding directly to Guest requests relating to maintenance issues and providing immediate attention to all trouble or emergency calls relating to the maintenance and operation of the hotel.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Performing routine equipment maintenance tasks and keep maintenance records, maintain all service tools and equipment in good working condition
Complete PM's and work orders in a timely manner
Carries out preventive maintenance/repairs on all building equipment
Complete building rounds and readings of various mechanical equipment
Operating and maintaining the building HVAC system
Complete shift reports and paperwork within required timelines
Identify, and recommend all required new projects, equipment replacement or preventative maintenance work, to ensure uninterrupted service
Minor plumbing, repairing/replacing plumbing fixtures, including toilets, sinks and basins, flushometers, snaking drains and plunging toilets
Drywall repair and painting, repairing the furniture, bulb replacement, filter replacement, pressure washing, moving furniture
Routine maintenance and repair of swimming pool and related equipment
Keep all mechanical and electrical rooms clean and free of hazards
Monitor and report fire system equipment deficiencies such as fire panel, smoke alarms, fire extinguishers and sprinkler system
Competency Profile
Demonstrates the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, grooming, and guest/associate relations
Self-motivated with the ability to complete tasks independently and on time
Strong attention to detail with proven organizational and problem-solving skills; able to perform well under pressure
Collaborative team player with strong written and verbal communication skills
Physically fit and able to safely lift up to 50 lbs
Flexible to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Skilled in using hand and power tools; comfortable working at heights and on ladders
What You Will Need
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a general maintenance role
5th or 4th Class Power Engineering certification (undergraduates welcome!)
Electrical or plumbing ticket considered a strong asset, but not required
Knowledge of building operations, including drywall, electrical, and plumbing (preferred)
Previous hotel experience (preferred)
Familiarity with building automation/management systems and HVAC systems (preferred)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic PC literacy

Shift and Schedule:
8-hour shift
Day shift, Evening shift.
Various shifts including weekends, holidays are expected.
Overnight work may be required.
Overtime as needed.
