Job Description

We are a small Canadian owned and operated telecommunications subcontractor since 2019, and we will be potentially hiring some part-time employees in the near future and are looking for qualified candidates to join our team. This position can lead to full-time for the right candidates.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

Reporting to staging area daily Stock work vehicle as needed and keep it clean and organized Make contact with homeowners prior to starting work, and if home, explain who you are and what you will be doing Work with customers to decide on route that is within reason. Work can proceed even if nobody is home ONLY if there is access to the work areas. Spade in new cable lines or fiber conduits between 2 locations, and when required, dig pits to go under sidewalks. Clean up job sites, and report back to shop with all paperwork and pictures.

Candidates are expected to:

Speak, read and write English fluently Have Canadian citizenship, or be legally permitted to work in Canada Have valid drivers license or be working towards it Provide a recent drivers abstract and basic criminal record and judicial matters check (CRJMC) prior to first day To dig with a shovel Use assorted hand tools Work outside for extended periods Report to supervisor Take required pictures and complete necessary paperwork Be able to work solo or in a team Be respectful and professional in both manner and appearance, with respect to others property and privacy
Construction, landscaping or telecommunications experience considered an asset

First-Aid, Working at Heights, WHMIS, Electrical Awareness and Book 7 Traffic Controls certifications are considered priority assets, but certifications for these will be provided in short order.

Permanent, Part-time, potential to lead to full-time

Pay:

Weekly pay by direct deposit. Piecework per job based on experience, vacation pay paid out every pay

8-12 hour shift (7am start)
