MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Nortera is currently looking for highly motivated, energetic team members to join us in a seasonal General Labourer capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the best possible product is being processed while following the provided training and procedures in place. Your qualifications and knowledge will support our operations to ensure overall safety, food production targets, and the highest quality product is made at all times.



Some of these responsibilities in this role would be but not limited to:


Inspecting finished product as per consumer standards. Load and remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them on moving equipment such as conveyors or in specified areas. Good hand/eye coordination to ensure that any foreign material is removed before further processing. Loading boxes onto skids to be shipped out to customers. Transport raw materials, finished products and packaging materials throughout plant and warehouse manually, or with powered equipment Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines or mobile tank trucks Feed and unload food and beverage processing machines Feed flattened boxes into forming machines to construct containers Remove filled containers from conveyors and manually pack goods into bags, boxes or other containers Clean work areas and equipment Check products and packaging for basic quality defects Assist process control and machine operators in performing their duties. Working closely with others as a part of a strong production team. Following work instructions and training given by supervisor, while following SOP's and adhering to GMP's. Other duties as assigned.

Standing, sitting, walking, climbing, crawling, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning, pulling/pushing, reaching, hand/eye coordination, finger/wrist dexterity, grasping/pinching, driving, lifting. Specific vision abilities are required by this job to include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Light Lifter: Ability to repetitively lift from 2 kg to 2.5 kg within a 12-hour shift. Heavy Lifter - Ability to repetitively lift 30 kg to 32 kg within a 12-hour shift.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

Must be capable of speaking, reading, and writing English at a Level 3 requirement Must be able to work in hot, cold, damp, wet, humid, etc. work environments Must have an open availability and be able to work 12 hour shifts while follow a continental schedule (example: 6:00am-6:00pm or 6:00pm-6:00am, rotating every 2 weeks, between 36-60 hours per week, overtime paid over 44 hours/week) Proven ability to work effectively as a team and independently Must be able to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs Must be comfortable climbing ladders, stairs, and/or working on platforms of different heights Must be able to do inspection of vegetable products as well as be near vibrations for long periods of time Must hold valid documentation to confirm you are legally entitled to work in Canada at all times (Note: it is the employees' responsibility to maintain the validity of these documents in order to remain employed with Nortera Foods.)
