The Alberta Securities Commission is the industry-funded regulator responsible for administering the province\'s securities laws. It is entrusted with fostering a fair and efficient capital market in Alberta and with protecting investors. As a member of the Canadian Securities Administrators, the ASC works to improve, coordinate and harmonize the regulation of Canada\'s capital markets.
The Office of the General Counsel provides specialized legal advisory services to the Commission, the Chair, the Executive Director and staff of the ASC. In addition, it is charged with informing ASC Senior Management of emerging regulatory issues, and provides advice as required. The opportunity::
Reporting to the Chair and CEO, the General Counsel leads and oversees the operation of the Office of the General Counsel and is responsible for the direction and management of its employees. As a member of the ASC\xe2\x80\x99s Senior Management Committee (SMC), the General Counsel collaborates with other SMC members in the development and execution of the ASC\xe2\x80\x99s Strategic and Business Plans as outlined below.
