OVERVIEW

The General Accountant is responsible for preparation for all aspects of the cash and revenue process, reconciliation of the general ledger accounts, assists in the day-to-day operation of the accounting department. As the General Accountant, you will assist the entire finance team with the preparation and monitoring of: daily financial reports, daily revenue audits and internal controls.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare daily input of revenue records in the accounting system Prepare for submission all Government and BCLC reports Prepare journal entries and accruals Review AP batches Maintain cash positions and determine daily funding requirements across all bank accounts Monitor and code monthly credit card summary statements Complete bank and credit card statement reconciliation Assist in the financial operations and the monthly accounts closing process in a precise and timely manner Work closely with the Finance team to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger, including all necessary reconciliations, account analysis, schedules and ad hoc reports Assist in the preparation of the internal financial analysis, management accounts and ad hoc analysis Assist with all external audit requirements Assist with inventory audit and reconciliation Assist with intercompany reconciliations Follow all aspects of month end close activities to meet deadlines Assist with implementation and maintenance of a budgetary system, and forecasts as directed Assist in the preparation of financial statement notes Responsible for providing professional and exceptional customer service in accordance with established company standards Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 2 years in accounting experience in multi entity environments Working towards a professional designation Excellent communication skills and proven superior customer service experience Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles Organized and detail oriented with strong analytical skills Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision and meet deadlines Ensure accurate reporting and demonstrate job ownership for all items completed Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision would be an asset Experience in the Casino or Restaurant industries would be an asset

CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES REQUIREMENTS

Ability to obtain a valid GPEB registration Ability to complete all BCLC required trainings Serving it Right Certification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Able to lift, handle, and transport materials that are over 20lbs Required to sit, stand and walk during working hours Must be able to work extended hours during the week and on weekends is often required to meet deadlines
