Role Summary
Reporting to the Senior Accountant of the activity, the accountant is responsible for providing support to the Finance department. This position works closely with both the regional offices as well as the Head Office Accounting team, to ensure all transactions are handled in a timely and professional manner. The General Accountant will additionally deal with highly confidential information, in compliance with local privacy legislation and company policy.
Main Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the General Accountant include, but are not limited to:
xc2xb7 Working with Senior Accountant of the activity to process transactions as directed.
xc2xb7 Assist in the preparation of monthly financial close, reporting and general ledger reconciliation ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
xc2xb7 Prepare and submit weekly reports as needed.
xc2xb7 Strong knowledge of Manufacturing Environment ERP system as related to accounting.
xc2xb7 Experience in Cost accounting in manufacturing or construction related activity.
xc2xb7 Analyzing and posting accounting transactions into accounting system as directed.
xc2xb7 Advanced Microsoft Excel skill, will be responsible for maintaining various excel data spread sheets, including updating and validating information as directed.
xc2xb7 Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company's Code of Ethics.
xc2xb7 Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.
xc2xb7 Other Accounting and Administration duties as required.

Technical Knowledge:
xc2xb7 Proven Accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment
xc2xb7 Strong knowledge of Financial and Cost Accounting principles
xc2xb7 Advanced excel skill, competence in MS office and software systems in manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
xc2xb7 Enrolled in CPA program,
xc2xb7 Minimum 2+ years of staff accountant experience in manufacturing

Working Conditions
xc2xb7 Overtime as required.
xc2xb7 Work is performed in an indoor setting and may include a combination of standing, sitting and waking. Sitting for extended periods of time is required.
xc2xb7 Manual dexterity required to use computer and peripherals.
xc2xb7 Work involves a high degree of concentration, accuracy, problem solving and working under time constraints.
xc2xb7 Must comply with all company policies.
xc2xb7 In town work, limited to no travel.
Compensation
The anticipated hourly wage for this position is minimum $30. The final compensation package will be determined based on factors including the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
