As our growth creates new career opportunities, likely there is the right one for you!Functional SummaryReporting to the Senior Accountant of the activity, the accountant is responsible for providing support to the Finance department. This position works closely with both the regional offices as well as the Head Office Accounting team, to ensure all transactions are handled in a timely and professional manner. The General Accountant will additionally deal with highly confidential information, in compliance with local privacy legislation and company policy.Key Requirements and Responsibilities:The responsibilities of the General Accountant include, but are not limited to:\xc2\xb7 Working with Senior Accountant of the activity to process transactions as directed.\xc2\xb7 Assist in the preparation of monthly financial close, reporting and general ledger reconciliation ensuring accuracy and timeliness.\xc2\xb7 Prepare and submit weekly reports as needed.\xc2\xb7 Strong knowledge of Manufacturing Environment ERP system as related to accounting.\xc2\xb7 Experience in Cost accounting in manufacturing or construction related activity.\xc2\xb7 Analyzing and posting accounting transactions into accounting system as directed.\xc2\xb7 Advanced Microsoft Excel skill, will be responsible for maintaining various excel data spread sheets, including updating and validating information as directed.\xc2\xb7 Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company\'s Code of Ethics.\xc2\xb7 Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.\xc2\xb7 Other Accounting and Administration duties as required.Safety and Teamwork:\xc2\xb7 Promote, execute and adhere to the company\'s safety program, and encourage all employees, sub-contractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.\xc2\xb7 Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.\xc2\xb7 Participate as an integral member of the team, and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required.\xc2\xb7 Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required.Technical Knowledge:\xc2\xb7 Proven Accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment\xc2\xb7 Strong knowledge of Financial and Cost Accounting principles\xc2\xb7 Advanced excel skill, competence in MS office and software systems in manufacturing environment.QualificationsEducation, Training and Certifications\xc2\xb7 Enrolled in CPA program,Work Experience\xc2\xb7 Minimum 2+ years of staff accountant experience in manufacturingSkills and Abilities\xc2\xb7 Interpersonal skills \xc2\xb7 Time Management \xc2\xb7 Data entry and bookkeeping \xc2\xb7 Organizational skills Demonstrate professionalism \xc2\xb7 Ability to work with deadlines \xc2\xb7 Accountability and dependability \xc2\xb7 Punctual and timely \xc2\xb7 Demonstrate initiative \xc2\xb7 Communication skills \xc2\xb7 Critical thinking \xc2\xb7 Interpret and follow instructions \xc2\xb7 Recordkeeping \xc2\xb7 Mathematical and accounting skills \xc2\xb7 Accomplish goals in a team environment \xc2\xb7 High attention to detail and accuracy \xc2\xb7 Analytical and problem solving skills \xc2\xb7 Multi-task and set priorities effectivelyWorking Conditions\xc2\xb7 Overtime as required.\xc2\xb7 Work is performed in an indoor setting and may include a combination of standing, sitting and waking.
