Job Summary
The General Accountant, reporting to the Finance & Business Analytics Manager, is responsible for supporting daily, monthly, and year-end accounting activities. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with accounts receivable and payable, reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and providing general support for financial reporting and analysis.

Month-End and Year-End Close
Key FunctionsGeneral Accounting:
Prepare account reconciliations and record receivable/payable entries in the ERP system.
Assist with coding and processing employee expenses and credit card transactions.
Support customer and supplier setup in the ERP system.
Prepare electronic bank files for supplier payments (ACH/EFT).
Review and investigate AP and AR reports, including uninvoiced receivers.
Assist with online payments and weekly payment runs.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Month-End Close:
Support the month-end closing process and preparation of financial statements.
Prepare bank reconciliations.
Post standard journal entries (e.g., payroll, prepaid expenses).
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
Support preparation of year-end working papers for external accountants.
Costing & Analysis:
Work with Operations and Supply Chain to help ensure accurate costing data.
Review job variances with Operations and close jobs as needed. (If applicable)
Measures of Success

Job Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Enrolled in or actively pursuing an accounting designation (CPA is an asset).
2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) and ADP Payroll an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions
Primarily an in-office role with frequent interaction with cross-functional teams.
Some exposure to plant areas; PPE may be required.
