Job Summary:
The General Accountant in a mold manufacturing company plays a vital role in supporting the financial health and accuracy of the organization. This position is responsible for performing cost accounting functions, including tracking, and analyzing production costs, inventory valuations, and variances. It also encompasses general accounting duties such as preparing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and reconciling accounts. Additionally, the role provides financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, monitors budget adherence, and assists in the completion of full cycle month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer billing and cash application
Invoice submission and collection efficiency.
Fixed assets management and amortization schedule
Create and maintain a customer base in accounting system.
Maintain petty cash and employee expenses reimbursement.
Preparation of month end journal entries
Analysis and reconcile of balance sheet accounts.
Creation of new jobs as per request by program managers
Input and maintain job cost base in accounting systems!
Monitor data process and ensure accuracy.
Validation and reconciliation of monthly WIP balance
Support months end close process from General Accounting perspectives.
Perform in-depth analytical review as required.
Prepare individual job costing details report.
Preparing job costing summary report
Support to monthly KPI preparation
Support to maintain and update ABC systems.
Payback analysis for capital requirements and project financial evaluations
Completes any other assignments, duties and projects that may be assigned.

o Measures the percentage of invoices submitted without error to ensure accuracy in billing.
Month-End Close Cycle Time (Target Days-8Days)
o Monitors the number of days required to complete the full month-end closing process.
Job Cost Variance (Target 100%)
o Compares estimated job costs to actual measure accuracy in cost tracking and control.
o Measures how many account reconciliations are completed without material errors.
Timelines of Financial Reports (Target 100%)
o Measures the percentage of reports (e.g., job costing, WIP valuations) submitted on or before the deadline.

Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Education: University Degree in Finance
CPA Designation as an asset
Technical Skills: Proficient in SAP/ERP Systems, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
Organizational skills: Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to collaborate with various departments.
Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability be hands-on and solve production-related issues.
Working Environment:
Office-based within a manufacturing facility
Occasional visits to the shop floor for validation and WIP support
