Job Summary: Candidate will lead a team of Payroll Specialists responsible for delivering efficient, on-time payroll services across Hydro's Southeast and Canada Regions. In addition, candidate will oversee and execute the day-to-day duties in processing Gainesville, Georgia and Magnolia, Arkansas' payroll for all hourly and salaried employees, ensuring pay is processed timely, accurately, and in compliance with Federal and State Wage and Hour regulations and Company policies.

Job Location: Southeast or Canada plant location

Required Education/Experience:
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in the payroll field required
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in MS Office Suite with an emphasis in Excel is required
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred (or a combination of education and experience)
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred
  • Previous experience in a leadership role preferred.
  • Working knowledge of UltiPro and Kronos, a plus
  • Knowledge of multi-state labor laws, a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish/French and English), a plus
Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead the payroll team's activities across multiple locations delivering efficient processes and controls resulting in timely and accurate payrolls.
  • Reviews timecard data by generating various reports to ensure hours scheduled for payment fall within location policies.
  • Extensively reviews payroll register and submits approval to external payroll vendor prior to finalizing payroll process.
  • Communicates with Human Resources department to ensure the integrity of payroll data related to new hires, terminations, transfers, pay rate changes, retroactive payments, bonus payments, tuition reimbursement payments, and employment verifications.
  • Acts as Project Leader for implementation of new/updated pay rules, system upgrades as relates to payroll practices and business processes.
  • Maintains detailed records and documentation of payroll transactions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements and company policies and procedures.
  • Submits voucher requests for payment to external parties for employee deductions - union dues, United Way campaigns, etc.
  • Assists new supervisors using time and attendance system and assist in the resolution of issues encountered by users.
