Job Description

As the Payroll Team Lead, you will work in payroll operations owning the execution of the Canadian payroll process for multiple legal entities of PPG Industries in a centralized shared services center. You will manage the team ensuring coordination with People Operations, Tax, Legal and Accounting, to ensure all aspects of the payroll process are accurate and controlled. You will set goals for the payroll team concerning performance, behaviors and development opportunities. You will report to the Payroll & TAA Leader, Americas. This position is open to remote candidates across Canada, but a preference to be located in Boucherville, QC.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all payroll systems, including time and attendance, policies and internal controls.

• Ensure compliance related to legal requirements including federal and provincial governments, year-end processes, and collective agreements.

• Process bonus programs: coordinating timelines with compensation (monthly, quarterly and yearly).

• Drive continuous improvement and ensure data accuracy.

• Lead and encourage employee development and engagement.

• Provide key leadership for special projects including mergers and acquisitions.

• Establish metrics and supervising departmental efficiency.

Qualifications

• College Degree or equivalent experience.

• 5+ years of demonstrated ability managing payroll processes as a people leader.

• Experience with Workday and Kronos preferred.

• Extensive and in-depth knowledge of Canadian payroll including tax and legal obligations.

• Fluency in both French and English required.
