Job Description


Striving to enhance client service excellence, incumbents will provide a high level of customer service to colleagues, team members, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure required outcomes are achieved within established timelines and other parameters. They will provide advice, analysis, support and guidance on a range of system, program and process matters that are critical in ensuring HR and pay impacting transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner.

Required Qualifications: Completion of Human Resource Management diploma is required. A minimum of 1-2 years progressively responsible related Human Resources experience is required. 1-2 years supervisory experience. Must have extensive knowledge in business processes surrounding the life cycle of an employee. Experience using PeopleSoft or Taleo is required. Excellent skills in the use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint). Experience in the interpretation, administration and application of collective agreements, policies and procedures and employment legislation, preferably in the public sector. Additional Required Qualifications: Required to be the internal functional expert to analyze issues and information. Must make decisions or take appropriate action to manage or address escalated issues and other operational matters. Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams. Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills. Must abide by the highest standards of confidentiality and have a sound understanding of the principles within Alberta’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, as well as the Health Information Act. Ability to maintain composure under constant pressure and stress while maintaining a high level of involvement while facing tight deadlines and quick turnaround times. Ability to diplomatically handle numerous interruptions. Flexible working hours to meet deliverables and manage stakeholder engagement/meetings. Preferred Qualifications: 3-5 years of Human Resources experience in a unionized environment at a Advisor or Generalist level. Eligible for CPHR designation. Experience in HR business processing in relation to HR, Recruitment, Benefits/Pension, Payroll and time capture/processing in a unionized environment. Working knowledge of SharePoint, Visio, Skype and Zoom. Strong commitment to participation in a collaborative team environment. Demonstrated excellence in customer service.
