Job Description


Our client provides a full range of industrial services for natural resource sectors, including workforce accommodations, camp management and additional services.

We are looking for a Regional General Manager to oversee the organization\'s growing operations in the Terrace region of British Columbia. This position will lead all camp and logistics procedures while meeting client\'s deliverables. The incumbent will be responsible for building and leading a high-performance team who can deliver high-quality, competitive services to our clients.

The successful incumbent will build and lead a productive work environment through the use and support of project and change management skills and by demonstrating outstanding leadership capability. This role will fill a senior leadership position on our client\'s management team and will be the primary contact to 5+ direct reports and 50+ indirect reports.

Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Manages all staff performance and output at the Terrace location (direct report for the logistics coordinators, shop/yard personnel, etc).

\xc2\xb7 Oversees regional billing and tracking of expenses.

\xc2\xb7 Conducts regular expense audits and ensures all expenses are managed appropriately.

\xc2\xb7 Conducts all staff scheduling, vacation, and other time off requests.

\xc2\xb7 Oversees general facility and shop management.

\xc2\xb7 Maintains a positive work environment.

\xc2\xb7 Manages workplace safety.

\xc2\xb7 Helps to lead, build and support a strong workplace health and safety culture.

\xc2\xb7 Manages client and vendor relationships with an eye on customer satisfaction and driving business growth.

\xc2\xb7 New project planning/execution.

\xc2\xb7 Budgeting, and tracking costs.

\xc2\xb7 Managing scope of work changes.

\xc2\xb7 Project tracking.

\xc2\xb7 Proactively identify project risks that could affect project cost, quality, and work scope.

\xc2\xb7 Develop mitigation strategies for project risks.

\xc2\xb7 Track product and service deliverables per client contracts.

\xc2\xb7 Create and execute action plans to address issues in remote camps.

\xc2\xb7 Manage shipping and receiving functions for camp equipment, machinery, fresh groceries, core samples, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Remote camp preparation and deployment.

\xc2\xb7 Crew changes.

\xc2\xb7 Asset management and tracking.

\xc2\xb7 Warehousing.

\xc2\xb7 Procurement.

\xc2\xb7 Emergency Response Plan Activation.

Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 Minimum of seven to ten years of progressive experience in operations management. We are particularly interested in individuals who have run logging camps or managed complex supply service operations in the oilsands.

\xc2\xb7 Experience with remote camps, trucking, industrial equipment and/or aviation would be an asset.

\xc2\xb7 Big picture thinker.
